Description
German leather is not an artificial leather, but is nevertheless a wonderful vegan substitute for many leather applications.
In contrast to Englischleder (= moleskin), only one side of German leather is roughened; the material was developed during industrialisation as a cheap replacement for expensive leather aprons.
Its extremely dense weave makes the fabric robust and very strong. Clothing made from it gradually moulds to the wearer.
A suitably robust sewing machine and processing skills are recommended for processing.
