Wool walks are the true all-rounders among wool fabrics. As felted knitted fabrics they are stretchable, comfortable and durable. They are easy to sew and simple to care for – often a “shower” in the damp night air is enough.
A perfect material for moisture-regulating, long-lasting and eco-friendly clothing for young and old. Even the smallest scraps can be transformed into hats, wrist warmers or charming little accessories.
Our wool walk fabrics are produced for us in Italy from high-quality pure new wool and merino wool, and the organic qualities in Germany. All meet the highest standards – something you can both see and feel.
Sewing with wool walk fabrics
Seams only require a small allowance, which can even be placed outside as a decorative seam. Edges can simply be cut. Neatening and hemming are not necessary, as a felted material cannot fray.
Caring for wool walk fabrics
Like all wool fabrics, wool walks and merino walks should be washed as rarely as possible. Wool primarily needs moisture to preserve its elasticity and beauty. Thanks to its strong self-cleaning and regenerating properties, brushing out and airing in fresh night air is usually sufficient. If necessary, wash quickly by hand in cold water with a wool detergent; reshape after washing and dry flat. Machine washing on the wool cycle with wool detergent is generally possible but should be tested in advance, as each machine behaves differently. Quick programmes without long soaking are preferable.
