Handle samples & sample cards

Thank you for your interest in our sample service! On this page, we provide information about how to order individual handle samples or sample cards with a selection of fabric samples so that you can see and feel the fabrics before you buy. Our sample service option helps you decide which fabrics are right for your project.

Our sampling options:

1. Single handle samples (up to 5 pieces, free of charge)

You can request individual samples of the original fabrics and colours for all fabrics that we offer by the metre. To do so, simply click on ‘Order sample’ for the desired fabrics in the shop to add them to your shopping basket and then complete your order via the shopping basket. We ship up to 5 handle samples for free. And for free sample shipments we will of course not charge you any postage.

In order to offer this service free of charge as far as possible, these fabric samples are kept relatively small (approx. 4 x 7 cm).

We charge EUR 0.50 per item for additional single handle samples, plus postage costs of EUR 2.00 for domestic shipments and EUR 3.50 for international shipments.

If sampling costs are incurred, these will be displayed in the shopping basket!

Alternatively or additionally, we offer sample cards, each containing samples of all fabrics from a collection (approx. 3 to 20 fabrics). This means you can order a matching ‘sample card’ with original fabric samples for almost every collection in the shop.

Due to the complex manual production process, our sample cards cost a small fee of EUR 2.50 per item.

You can put together your own personalised fabric catalogue depending on which collections you are interested in.

You can find our sample cards in the respective collections (usually at the bottom of the list) or in our overview of individual sample cards.

3. The complete sample card package (our entire catalogue)

For a sample overview of our standard collection, we offer the 'Complete Sample Card Package': it contains all current sample cards (approx. 40-45 pieces) and, at EUR 59.90, is significantly cheaper than purchasing all sample cards individually.

This package is comparable to a comprehensive catalogue in which most, but not all, fabrics are sampled!

There are no sample cards available for some collections in the shop, as the fabrics are either too valuable or too different. Our ‘seasonal fabrics’ and individual special items are also not available as sample cards and are not included in the complete package. You can order individual fabric samples of these fabrics if required. We do not have an illustrated catalogue, as it is virtually impossible to display fabrics in a truly lifelike manner (colour, character, quality). You simply have to touch our fabrics to ‘grasp’ their quality.

How up-to-date are the sample cards?

Our collection is constantly changing; new fabrics are added and sold-out fabrics are not restocked for various reasons. That's why you'll always find something new here and the range never gets boring.

Of course, there are also a number of ‘classics’ that we have had in our range for almost 40 years and which – as far as possible – will continue to be available in the future. This is particularly important for our commercial customers who plan well in advance. Just ask us if you need to know whether an item will be available in the long term.

Our sample cards are updated with each new edition (approx. 2-4 times a year), but for technical reasons it is not always possible to keep them completely up to date. It may therefore happen that a new fabric is not included in a sample card or that a fabric that is already sold out is still included.

Our customers who work extensively with our fabrics update their sample cards at least once a year.

Why order samples?

Please note that there is no right of withdrawal on cut fabrics. So if you have a specific idea of the desired colour or quality, simply order samples quickly and easily.
