We deliver worldwide, but only a selection of countries is listed in our country list. Deliveries to other countries are possible on request.

We can deliver to business customers based in other EU countries with a valid VAT ID without charging German VAT. Please let us know your VAT ID BEFORE or together with your order, e.g. via the comment field during the payment process.
Please note that the store always displays German VAT for orders to other EU countries. If your VAT ID is available, we will deduct this from your invoice and correct your payment accordingly.

There are two options for deliveries to Switzerland:

1. For a direct delivery to Switzerland we do not charge German VAT, you only pay the net value of your order, but there are relatively high additional costs due to customs clearance. We charge EUR 19.90 net for customs clearance and shipping, but there are additional fees that will be charged directly to you by customs or the parcel service provider. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any information about the amount of these additional costs, as they depend on various factors such as the value of the goods and the type of goods.

2. We can also send your order to a German delivery address (e.g. a parcel station near the border) at the considerably cheaper domestic shipping costs, but in this case we have to charge German VAT, which you can get refunded by us after customs clearance. For the refund, we require the original invoice stamped by customs as proof of export.

For deliveries to other third countries, we can only offer direct shipping without German VAT. We will be happy to provide you with the shipping and customs clearance costs for your country on request.

Delivery takes place immediately from stock, the delivery time is approx. 1 - 3 working days.
Different delivery times and availability are indicated on the product pages.

For international shipments, delivery may take a little longer depending on the destination country.

If the shipment of your order is delayed, e.g. because an ordered item is not in stock, you will be notified by us.

The shipping costs are displayed during the ordering process according to the destination country or can be viewed under Payment & Shipping.

However you prefer! We are happy to take your order via our online store, telephone, e-mail, fax or post.

For deliveries within Germany, we offer payment by direct debit or PayPal.
For international deliveries, you can pay by PayPal or prepayment.

For sample shipments only, payment by invoice is also possible.

To ensure that we can deliver the goods after payment, we have to cut the fabrics for the reservation. Unfortunately, we often find that customers do not understand prepayment as a binding order, never pay for it and we are then left with the cut and packaged goods.

However, if no other payment method than prepayment is possible for you, we are happy to make an exception on request, but only if we can be sure that the ordered goods will be accepted.

If the fabrics have been tailored to the personal needs of the consumer (e.g. cut-to-size yard goods), there is NO right of withdrawal, so you have the option of requesting a sample of the original goods before placing your order.
Deviations between the screen display and the original fabric are not grounds for complaint, as every monitor can reproduce colors differently.

We receive requests for sponsorship almost every day. We would love to support all these wonderful projects, but unfortunately we are dependent on selling the fabrics we buy. In many cases, however, we grant special conditions, e.g. for trainees in the textile sector. You can find more information about our special conditions HERE.

We rely on high-quality illustrations of the fabrics on the Internet and an extensive sampling service in the form of individual samples or sample cards. This gives you everything you need to "understand" the fabrics. Our sample cards allow you to put together your own individual and sampled catalog according to your area of interest.

We offer a sampled "complete catalog" in the form of our "sample card complete package". Our seasonal fabrics are not included in the sample cards and can only be sampled as individual samples.

We have a large standard program with a long-term collection, as well as limited seasonal stock, which we add twice a year. Our seasonal fabrics are mainly exclusive designer fabrics produced by the best Italian textile companies.

The standard program is summarized in sample cards or can be ordered as individual samples. The seasonal program is presented in our newsletter or in offer lists. Individual samples can be ordered.

Unlike the seasonal fabrics, most of the fabrics from the standard program are available for a longer period, but even here there are sometimes changes. It is better to ask again in individual cases.

You can view all fabrics in our store in Heuchelheim on large sample tabs and buy them directly by the meter in 10cm increments. Please note our opening hours from Mon-Fri 9 am - 4 pm.

Of course, our specialists will be happy to advise you on matching color combinations, for example.
We will help you to find suitable materials for your requirements, e.g. curtains for a particular room ambience.

As far as the exact fabric consumption for clothing is concerned, it is essential to have a pattern or to ask the seamstress.

Yes, you can order up to 5 free individual samples per month (all others for 50 cents) or complete fabric groups in the form of sample cards for EUR 2,50 per piece. Further information on sampling can be found HERE.

For all fabrics that you find under the search term "organic", "kbT" or "kbA", the cultivation or animal husbandry of the fibers is certified. We have the certificates and the fabrics come from reliable sources that have been known to us for a long time. For most dyed fabrics, the dyeing is also GOTS-certified, which is stated in the description of the fabrics.

The use of the terms "organic", "kbT" or "kbA" in the article name or the material specification. We only use these terms if the goods are certified accordingly. In addition, the GOTS label is also displayed in the article overview for GOTS-certified fabrics.

Unser Company certificate, which you can find on our GOTS info page, in conjunction with the certification note in the item text on our invoices represents a full certification. The creation of individual or transaction certificates (TCs) is only possible for bulk orders and with a continuous certification chain.

Important note for commercial customers: If you are a commercial customer and require transaction certificates (TCs) for your business, please contact us BEFORE placing your order. Due to the very high amount of work and costs involved in applying for and issuing TCs, we can only issue them FOR LARGE QUANTITIES. In addition, we have to pass on the sometimes considerable processing and certification costs to you, as these are NOT included in the item prices.

Certifications for fabrics are complex and expensive because every single step has to be certified, the cultivation / animal breeding, then the spinning mill, the weaving mill, the dyeing mill and finally the retailer. Each of these steps costs a lot of money and therefore only large companies can afford these certifications at all! In addition, there are many fabrics that are grown organically, but for which certification is not possible or sensible for other reasons, such as our nettle fabric from Nepal or many of the hemp and linen fabrics.

Many of our non-certified fabrics are at least equivalent, if not better, such as our Allos, hemp and linen fabrics or Harris tweeds.

All these fabrics cannot be certified for the reasons mentioned under "Why are not all fabrics certified organic".

We buy as close as possible and as far away as necessary from all over the world.
Many types of fabric that we cannot do without in our collection are not (or no longer) produced in Europe. We buy these fabrics in India or China, for example. We prefer to have fabrics made especially for us according to our ideas and designs by selected companies and manufacturers.

Natural fibers in the greatest possible variety, best quality, as natural as possible, produced in an ecologically and socially compatible way with changing priorities, as one fabric rarely has everything. All this in the widest possible price range.

Meeting the spirit of the times in terms of fashion while maintaining timeless beauty, because true beauty is always timeless.

The preservation of textile culture is another major concern for us, as this, like many species worth preserving, is threatened with extinction.

Home-made from wool from the sheep or linen field behind the house, hand-spun and hand-woven and left in its natural state or at the very most dyed with plants from the surrounding area.

Our Allo nettle fabric comes closest to this ideal. Unfortunately, it is a dying textile species. There is no room for such dinosaurs in today\'s textile world and unfortunately there are no certificates.

Let\'s not kid ourselves: every machine-grown and harvested fiber, spun and woven with machines, comes into contact with chemicals and the consumption of non-renewable raw materials. All the more so if this textile is dyed or even printed. As there are only ever gradual differences, the most organic textile is ultimately the one that is used the longest, is made from renewable raw materials and is therefore compostable.

The quality of the fabrics is one of the most important criteria for us, because quality = sustainability! The most ecological (and cheapest) material is the one that will be worn and used for a long time.

The criterion of \"sustainability through quality\" is perhaps the most important of all at a time when huge mountains of textile waste are growing every year.

The GOTS certification (Global Organic Textile Standard) is an internationally recognized standard for textiles made from organically grown natural fibers. A fabric with GOTS certification meets strict ecological and social criteria throughout the entire production chain – from cultivation and processing to final manufacturing. This includes, for example, the avoidance of harmful chemicals, fair working conditions, and environmentally friendly production methods. Many natural fabrics are most beautiful, most natural and most ecological in nature, because every (even certified) dyeing is an ecological burden. Given the diversity of our collection, we cannot offer every fabric in many colors.

You can dye all natural or bleached natural fiber fabrics with the dyes intended for the fiber. If you want to have fun and love nature and surprises, then try dyeing with plants on wool or silk fabrics. Appropriate literature is available in specialist shops.

No, not as a rule, but if we do, we add it.

Colorful printed fabrics are still often contaminated with formaldehyde, which we don\'t want in our rooms and you certainly don\'t either, especially not on your children.

New printing methods such as digital printing allow for softer colors and have a lower chemical load, but are still relatively expensive.

Greige fabric is a woven fabric that has undergone little or no finishing after weaving. The fibres therefore still contain the so-called sizing agent. This is an auxiliary substance applied during weaving to make the fibres smoother and more resistant to mechanical stress. During the first wash, the sizing agent is washed out of the fabric. This process is known as desizing. The wash water may turn yellowish, brownish or yellow-brown. This discolouration is completely normal and does not mean that the fabric is losing colour or becoming lighter. Traditionally, natural starches such as potato or wheat starch were used for sizing. Today, starch and starch derivatives are still used, as well as certain synthetic sizing agents. Under GOTS, synthetic sizing agents are only permitted to a limited extent and subject to strict requirements. Greige fabrics also usually have a significantly higher residual shrinkage than fabrics that have already been finished or pre-washed. Greater shrinkage should therefore be expected during the first wash. This should be taken into account when calculating the required amount of fabric and before cutting.

Basically, wool does not really need to be washed at all. It is the easiest to care for and at the same time the most hygienic! fiber at all. Wool primarily needs moisture to retain its elasticity and beauty. The best way to care for wool is to hang it out in the damp night air, but a flower spray will also do in a pinch.

Wool is a living fiber that has very high self-cleaning and regenerative powers. Moist air helps the fibre to recover and all odours, bacteria and fungi are neutralized or disappear. Allow soiling to dry, rub off or treat with a damp cloth in places. This keeps it at its best, prevents pilling and preserves its biological properties. Only if it is really unavoidable, wash quickly with a little wool detergent, squeeze out in a towel and leave to dry flat.

In contrast to cellulose fibers such as cotton, linen and hemp, wool cannot be shrunk in advance. Wool does not shrink at all if it is treated correctly. Wool will shrink even after the 10th wash if it is treated incorrectly - by using too much or the wrong detergent, long soaking times, vigorous rubbing or large temperature differences during washing.

The electrical charge in silk is a natural phenomenon, just as hair or wool can become charged.

Silk can become highly charged, especially after ironing, as every ironing movement transfers electrical charge into the fabric. Today\'s common floor coverings and shoe soles made of synthetic materials are amplifying factors, as no discharge can take place due to their insulating properties.

You can remedy this by "beating" the load out of the dress with a wooden stick, e.g. a wooden spoon.

A night in the fresh night air also works and if none of this helps, a bath in fabric softener is the remedy of choice or lining the dress with cotton.

Silk can be treated with an antistatic finish, but this always results in a strong change (= synthetic resin coating) to the natural fiber.

Jerseys can have a bias due to the production process. In this case, the grainline marked in the pattern pieces is orientated to the stitch direction to prevent the side seams from twisting. This can mean that the pattern does not fit as intended and a little more fabric is required. We recommend cutting jersey pattern pieces on the bias not on the bias, but simply lying flat.

The width stated in our shop generally refers to the usable width of the fabric, excluding the selvedges. Selvedges, meaning the technically reinforced edge areas, as well as glued cut edges on some knitted fabrics, are not included and are usually not used when cutting the fabric. Please take this into account when planning your project, especially if you require the full fabric width, for example for curtains. Minor production-related deviations in width are also customary for fabrics sold by the metre.

The selvedge is the technical edge of a woven fabric panel. It is used to secure the fabric on pin frames during production and finishing and is usually cut off or not used during processing. Selvedges may therefore, in individual cases, show small holes, tears, pressure marks, soiling or impact marks. Such deviations in the selvedge area do not constitute grounds for complaint, provided that the usable fabric area is not affected. In some jersey fabrics, the fabric is first produced as tubular fabric and then cut open. The open edges may be glued to prevent the fabric from laddering. These glued cut edges are also technical edge areas and are treated in the same way as selvedges.
