Merinowool Fine Boiled

Knitted and then milled in Italy and Germany (GOTS), these are our lightest fine-wale knits. Comfortable and stretchy, they owe their pretty bouclé-like structure to a purely mechanical-thermal fulling process. The structure has been smoothed by decatising with steam and pressure. The natural properties of wool provide optimum temperature control, wool is easy to care for and breathable, it can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture. Processing fulling fabrics

Seams only need a small amount of stitching and this can even be used as a decorative seam on the outside. Simply trim the edges. Neatening and hemming can be omitted, as a felted material cannot unravel.

Care of felted fabrics

Like all woollen fabrics, merino wool should be washed as rarely as possible. Wool primarily needs moisture to retain its elasticity and beauty and, due to its very high self-cleaning and regenerative powers, brushing and airing out in fresh night air is usually sufficient. If necessary, hand wash quickly in cold water with wool detergent, pull into shape after washing and leave to dry flat. Machine washing on the wool cycle and with wool detergent is also possible in principle, but should be tested beforehand as every machine behaves differently, with quick washing programmes without long soaking being preferable.
